With a brand as edgy and deep as Manifesto, the first impression for consumers is not only important but something that needs to be carefully thought through. While it was important that the package design reflected the punk rock surf culture it was born out of, it also had to be appealing to a wider and more grown up audience. In the end, we felt like the balance was somewhere in between and ultimately catered to folks who could appreciate a little edginess in their adult lives. Think listening to The Jam in your minivan on your way to pick up the kids. You get the idea.
